She specialises in speculative fiction, but is proficient in all writing styles, genres and forms.
Emily has a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in English Literature and Create & Critical Writing and over 5 years experience writing and editing. She has worked with a variety of published authors and publishing houses that span all genres and writing styles, including Spineless Wonders and Aurealis Magazine.
Emily also has her Master of Arts in Editing & Publishing with Distinction, where she crafted her thesis entitled Compression for Impact: The Appeal of Weird Short Stories for Contemporary Readers. She is now undertaking her PhD with her research looking at Weird Fiction and pop culture pacification.
Emily’s love for Speculative Fiction shines through her collection of original short stories, Mother’s Milk. Her short story ‘Customer Service’ was a winner in the 2023 Aurealis Awards for Best Science Fiction Short Story.
